What is Green Goderich?
We are a grassroots organization who advocate for the environment as well as educate the public on environmental issues, plastic pollution, and climate change.
Climate change is the current effects occurring to our planet due to our vastly increasing global temperature. This increased global temperature is driven by greenhouse gas emissions. It causes warming of the oceans, decreased amounts of ice and snow cover, rising of the sea levels, extreme weather events, and ocean acidification. We need 1.6 planets to provide enough resources for our current rate of production and to absorb our waste. By mid-2030, we will need 2 planets (N&E). Currently, we are on track for 4-4.5°C in warming of our planet, but our global target limit to keep climate change at a manageable level is 1.5°C (N&E).
