2022:
A YEAR IN REVIEW

Green Goderich has been busy this year, check out what we have completed in 2022:
  • Farmer's Market community outreach and fundraising for environmental projects
  • Presented to the Rotaract Club about environmental initiatives
  • Promoted the Just Transition Act to our local governments and peacefully marched outside the Courthouse in March
  • Promoted a spring town-wide clean-up event for Earth Day
  • Ran a volunteer tree planting event where 292 trees were planted at Bannockburn Tract near Varna
  • Supported the Coastal Conservation Youth Corps program through the Lake Huron Coastal Centre, providing a presentation on local aquatic species and habitat
  • Participated in the first ever Froggy Fest event put on by the Lake Huron Coastal Centre
  • Hosted a climate strike in September to show our local politicians that we care about environmental issues and want them to make changes to support mitigating the climate crisis
  • Presented to the Huron Fringe Field Naturalists about native plants
  • Joined Perth County Sustainability Hub to march outside MPP Matthew Rae's offices in Stratford as well as outside MPP Lisa Thompson's offices in Blyth to protest Bill 23
  • Spearheaded the first Christmas Bird Count in the Goderich area since the 1930's
